What are some fun bachelorette party ideas?
The most unique bachelorette party ideas are the ones that highlight the bride and your friendship to them in a meaningful way. Traveling together, experiencing a new activity together, camping/hiking together are all great ways to bond and have fun before their big day.
The number of unique bachelorette party ideas are honestly endless, but this post will break down some categories you might want your bachelorette party (or the one you’re planning!) to fall into.
A lot of these ideas can be appropriate for any time of year, but I’ll give you some seasonal ideas at the end too.
No matter what you do for your Bach, just remember to have fun! This is the start of all the crazy wedding activities that will leave your head spinning. This party is meant for spending quality time with your people before you get inundated by family stuff and last-minute wedding detail logistics that will pop up closer to The Day.
Without further ado, let’s get into these awesome and unique bachelorette party ideas…
Simple Bachelorette Party Ideas
If you’re anything like me, a simple bachelorette party is one that doesn’t require much effort to put together or coordinate, either as a guest or as the host. To me, this means going somewhere outside of someone’s home to eliminate any decor or cleanup needs.
“Simple” also means that it doesn’t become a financial or scheduling burden for folks.
That’s all to say that the best, most simple bachelorette party ideas (in my opinion) are the ones that take place during the daytime/early evening. Show up, have some laughs, get out. Here are some ideas:
- Drag Brunch (a classic for good reason! And please for the sake of everything good and holy, mind your Ps & Qs, especially if you’re a hetero, and tip well!)
- a non-Drag brunch!
- Wine tasting (either at a vineyard or a local wine shop)
- a day at a Beer Garden or brewery
- a tour of some place weird (or maybe several weird places? Check out Atlas Obscura)
- a simple dinner with ride via sprinter van/limo (make the transportation to the restaurant part of the event!)
Bachelorette Party Ideas for Introverts
Although I think I’m more in the anti-social social hemisphere of things, this one speaks to me. If you also feel worn out in group settings, hate organized fun, and dread the thought of participating in more than one round of small talk, these ideas are for you!
- Drive-in movie
- Stand-up comedy show
- Burlesque show
- Drag show
- A concert
- Escape room (I know this might seem weird because it is a group activity, but if everyone is actively working on something with a goal in mind, there’s no room for small talk or dead air!)
- Monster truck show
- Ropes course
Bachelorette Party Ideas for Small Groups
I think the definition of “small group” varies somewhat, but in this context I’m going to consider a ‘small group’ less than 5 people (including the bride).
Small groups can be awesome, but they can also be deceptively challenging–especially if your small group consists of people that may not know each other super well. Don’t worry, here are some ideas that cater to both the groups that are full BFFFL friend groups as well as the ones that aren’t!
- Road trip!
- Theme park
- Horseback riding
- Staycation at a local hotel
- Camping/ glamping
- Day hike
- Spa day
- Lunch and day drinking at a place like Top Golf or a tiki bar
- Professional sporting event (baseball game, etc)
- A “Wine and X” class (ex: Paint ‘n Pour, BYOB Pottery class, etc.)
Bachelorette Party Activities at Home
Related to the list for introverts above, this one speaks to me. I love hanging out at home. There are also a lot of benefits to having a bachelorette party at home, not least of which is saving some moolah.
However, if having a bachelorette party at home isn’t your first choice but rather is being dictated by finances, don’t you worry. An at-home bachelorette party can still be off-the-charts amazing (and honestly in some cases, might even be more fun than the option of going out)!
When I think about parties at home, I look to the Real Housewives universe. If you’re a fellow Bravoholic like me, you know what I mean…
- In home Chef for a multi-course dinner
- Rent the In-N-Out Cookout truck (omg a dream!)
- Hire a tarot card reader/psychic/medium
- Load up on some board games (new or vintage!) for a nostalgic game night
- Theme party (Oh how I love a theme. Themes for your consideration: MTV’s TRL/90’s nostalgia, Halloween-core, Christmas in [whatever month], Guess Who– dress up as each other or as a character/celebrity)
- Murder Mystery party (you can either go through a company or just buy your own game and host it yourself!)
- GBBO/ Iron Chef-style competition between all guests
Last-Minute Bachelorette Party Ideas
Maybe you’re like me, playing the “will-she, won’t-she” game (“will she have a bachelorette party?” “Will she not have a bachelorette party?”). Or maybe you’ve been gifted the burden of having to throw one together last-minute. Perhaps you’ve just been procrastinating because you’re not a professional party planner and you already have so many things on your plate and this is just another thing to organize and gah!
Deep breaths. This thing is going to be LIT. Here are some tips and ideas if you’re in a last-minute crunch:
- Host a pizza-making dinner party! This provides both the activity and dinner! If you’re not brave enough to attempt making your own crust, you can find pre-made pizza crust (or flatbread crust) at any grocery store (either frozen or not). Buy some sauce and a bunch of different things for toppings and have everyone go wild!
- Host your own wine tasting! Hire a sommelier to come to the house and teach everyone about tannens and ish.
- Host a potluck with a loose theme (everything is more fun with a theme)
- Host a classic slumber party (pajamas, popcorn and multiple Rom Coms mandatory)
Hosting at your place not an option? No sweat, here are some other last-minute, unique bachelorette party ideas that don’t have people coming over to your place:
- Bowling
- Paintball
- Mini Golf
- Go to a rooftop bar at a local hotel
- Go to a bar with a backyard/games
- Barhop/ beer crawl!
- Go to a speakeasy!
And if you’re looking for something seasonal, here are a few additional ideas for ya:
Bachelorette Party ideas for Summer
- Cruise on a lake (either a lunch/dinner cruise boat or your own boat rental)
- River rafting (either a guided group raft or lazy river tubing)
- Day at the beach/shore (picnic or BBQ!)
Bachelorette Party ideas for Winter
- Snow tubing
- Cross country ski day
- Ice skating
- Hot springs/tubbing at a hotel or spa
So those are all my unique bachelorette party ideas that will hopefully help guide you to something that’s perfect for your group! At the end of the day, you’re with people you love and you’re going to have so much fun, so don’t sweat the details too much!
