This post is all about the most underrated and unique bachelorette party destinations that break away from the norm.
Unique Bachelorette Party Destinations:
1. Reno, NV
I may be biased because I grew up here, but Reno is called The Biggest Little City in the World for a reason. There is truly something for everyone here and a significantly better choice if you have a mixed group of drinkers and non-drinkers, gamblers and non-gamblers or a group that just wants a little variety in their trip!
If you are looking for a weekend of gambling and debauchery, but something that’s a little more budget-friendly than Las Vegas, Reno is for you. And if you want to get a breath of fresh air and get in some nature with your crew, Lake Tahoe is about an hour down the road.
2. South Lake Tahoe, NV
Speaking of Lake Tahoe… South Lake Tahoe specifically is a great location for an awesome bachelorette party. You might not know, but Lake Tahoe is actually split across the California and Nevada state line which means South Lake Tahoe has gambling.
If you are looking to host a bachelorette party that appeals to outdoor enthusiasts, Lake Tahoe is a beautiful choice. The best part: it’s great year-round. In the winter, you have plenty of ski resorts (even if you don’t ski, who doesn’t love a cute and cozy Apès Ski moment?) and in the summer, you have a ton of lake activities to choose from.
And when you’re done with the outdoors, you can head back to your hotel and hit the slots and a show.
3. Amsterdam
So you’re looking to use your bachelorette party as an excuse to get out of the country? You go Glenn Coco! Allow me to offer Amsterdam as maybe not an underrated, but certainly a unique bachelorette party destination.
Not only is Amsterdam beautiful and full of history, it’s ripe for some good ol’ fashion fun. You can spend your days walking the city or taking a canal cruise (drink in hand!) and your nights exploring what Amsterdam is known for! Each neighborhood offers something unique and there are lots of local spots that really allow for a unique experience.
4. Pigeon Forge, TN
As a stark contrast to Amsterdam, is Pigeon Forge, TN. This is probably the most American destination on the list, but worth consideration. If you love Dolly Parton (hello, who doesn’t) and you’ve never been to Dollywood, now is your chance. Get your group together and head on down to Pigeon Forge for a truly memorable experience.
The best way to describe Pigeon Forge is Vegas with no gambling. If you’ve never been to the South, you may need to be reminded that this is God-fearing country, so keep that in mind. However, the over-the-top outlandishness really can’t be beat. You’ll take a ton of photos and will have a lot of laughs.
If you’re a drinker, here’s a pro-tip: you will not be finding a lot of nightlife in Pigeon Forge, so find a nice house or cute cabin that you and your party can stay at and have all the booze there.
You’ll spend your days taking in all the weird, wonderful, touristy things PF has to offer and then head back to the house early. So stock up on snacks and drinks and games for a cute slumber party vibe.
5. Lake George, NY
If you’re on the East Coast looking for your Palm Springs moment, Lake George could be a great option for you! Yeah of course it’s no Palm Springs, but! It’s a super chill option and the Tiki Resort offers a great place to rest your head and hang out poolside.
In addition to cute lakeside activities (including some solid mini golf), Lake George also offers a great dinner cruise that you can plan a night around. If you and your bridal party are looking for a quiet, low-key getaway, this destination is definitely for you.
6. Niagara Falls, Canada
Another international suggestion, is our neighbor Canada! Specifically Niagara Falls on the Canada side. There is gambling and a kitschy downtown area that is loads of fun to hang out in. And oh yeah, there’s this waterfall that people seem to like.
If you’ve never been to Niagara Falls, why not tick it off your bucket list and go with your bridal party? It really is something to see and there are plenty of things to do, especially for a short trip. You can spend a whole day at the falls (or go on one of their cruises!) and then go try your luck at the casino.
There’s also the Flying Saucer Restaurant which, if I can be so bold, is a must for a fun meal.
7. Bass Pro Shop Pyramid, Memphis, TN
Ok, back to the U S of A. Notice this one is specifically the Bass Pro Shop Pyramid and not Memphis? That’s because the Bass Pro Shop Pyramid (aka Big Cypress Lodge) is truly, the destination. Of course Memphis itself has a lot to offer as well (ahem, Graceland), but the Bass Pro Shop Pyramid is one of the best, weirdest, most unique places I have ever experienced.
If you’ve never been here, imagine a giant Bass Pro Store decorated to be a swamp, complete with live fish swimming through the canals that run throughout the store. If that’s not enough, it’s also a super nice hotel. You read that right: on the perimeter of the store are rooms, running the height of the building that overlook the store. Yes, there are balconies off the rooms that look out onto the store.
Oh yeah, and if that’s not enough to sink your teeth into, there’s also a bowling alley that’s “under the sea” themed and a nice restaurant at the very top of the pyramid with a deck that gives you impeccable views of Memphis.
Like I said, this place is one-of-a-kind and I’ve been wanting to go back since the first time I’ve been. They have everything here so even if you don’t feel like renting a car and exploring Memphis (though you should!), you really don’t need to leave.
8. Madonna Inn, San Luis Obispo, CA
Similar to the Bass Pro Shop Pyramid, is Madonna Inn where this place is the destination. Madonna Inn is right up there in the kitsch factor: all the rooms are a different theme, which means everyone in your party will have a unique experience.
The hotel has a lot to offer in itself that you really don’t have to leave the grounds. There’s a nice pool, bar/restaurant for those who want to chill and there’s also tennis courts and horseback riding for those who want to be a little more active.
And if you do feel like spending a day away from the hotel, you’re in wine country. Take your crew to the vineyards for a little wine tasting before heading back and having a nice dinner and jacuzzi sesh.
9. Golden, CO

Another unique option for your bachelorette party is Golden, CO, right down the road from Denver. This is a good one for outdoor enthusiasts as well as beer drinkers. This is home to Coors, and you can book a really awesome tour at their factory.
You could even split your trip and hop on over to Denver, which also has a lot to offer in the way of bars, outdoor activities and if the season is right, maybe catch a show at the famous Red Rocks Amphitheater or see a ball game.
These are my picks for the most unique bachelorette party destinations you can consider for a fun and memorable kick-off to your wedding season.
