Who’s running this thing?
Hey! Welcome! I’m assuming you’re here because you’re either having a wedding, thinking about having a wedding, going to a wedding, or participating in a wedding. And for any of those reasons, I hope you find something useful or inspiring here!
Allow me to introduce myself…
I’m Chelsea. I got married to my lovely husband back in 2018 and as someone who didn’t grow up planning her wedding or have a Pinterest board at the ready, I found the entire process leading up to the “I Do’s” to be extremely stressful. 
I didn’t feel like the wedding I had in mind was represented anywhere, and I had trouble finding inspiration for a bride… like me. When I first started poking around online, I felt like everything I was seeing leaned towards a Glamorous, Boho-chic, Instagrammable, Easybreezybeautifulcovergirl wedding in the California desert and to me, that was just not my vibe (and don’t get me wrong: if that IS your vibe, love that for you! But I had a hard time finding something that felt aligned with “me”).
I felt like no one “got it”. No one really understood what I was going for. The thought of walking into a bridal store with pastel walls and a silver couch, trying to weed through racks of dresses that were all a Variety of a Theme made me so stressed and honestly, downright depressed. So I opted to forego all that jazz and bought my dress on eBay for $250, and then grabbed a reception dress at Nord’s Rack the night before our Rehearsal so I could have something to boogie down in. Do I regret either of these dresses? No. They worked out fine! But do I kind of, sort of wish I could have had “that moment” to find The Dress with all my besties, a little tipsy after brunch? …yes.
And that’s why I’m here! Veiled Threat is for those of us whose spirits are just not aligned with most of the wedding stuff that’s currently out there. We want inspiring wedding stuff too! I hear ya. And I want to give it, give it, give it to ya.
What should you expect to find here?
We want to give you all the inspiration, advice, and encouragement so you can feel armed and confident and, hopefully, not as stressed as I was. Now, I am not a Wedding Planner, and (at this time anyway) I’m not trying to become the Yellow Pages of Awesome Vendors You Can Employ. There are other sites that already do a great job of this. That being said… if YOU are a Wedding Planner or a vendor or know someone who is, and have some sage advice or input you would love to have included on this site, please hit up that Contact page!
